Laundry Land

I don't know about all of you, but I HATE when others touch my laundry. Where did all of those socks go? Is that my shirt she just walked out in? No! I've been doing my own laundry since I was about 9 or 10. I'm always astonished by people sometimes older than me who do not know how to use the strange white washing machines in that spare room. 

These are my solutions to making sure your laundry stays your laundry! 

1. Pick a day!

I always do my laundry on Sundays. But schedules will change with school and work down in LA. So maybe after a solid week of work, sit down and pick a day with your roommates. You won't always get this day off or have the energy to do it, so be make sure to be nice when you ask your fellow roommate if you can use the washer after them. Be patient. You missed your day, that isn't their fault and shouldn't have to feel rushed!

2. Pick a basket!

Now whether you label your basket with a name like this:

Or pick a cute color like this: 

You will need to have a designated basket or bag to call your own. I'd probably do a combination of the two, just to make it cute. ^.^ 

3. Pick a system! (ie Pick a soap)

Not everyone uses the same detergent, bleach, etc. So if you don't want to pool your money for laundry goods, then you will need to also label and store your own. Some of the laundry rooms are quite large and have plenty of room for a make shift folding table, and ironing board, and even all of the baskets. 

But some others are practically pantries. So make sure to save room in your closet for your basket/soap if yours happens to be a bit smaller. 

It's going to take a bit of getting use to. Especially if you're not accustomed to doing your own laundry! But once you get into the swing of things, keeping your clothes both clean and Yours, will be very easy :)
